Demonstrations

I am based in Sheffield where I also lead my own art groups, run watercolour courses and workshops. I am probably at my happiest when I’m with a group of people either making an idiot of myself demonstrating to an audience or leading a workshop. My presentations are stimulating, challenging, and educational and my specialility is watercolour. I present a brand of teaching which is unique and people often comment that they learn more in two hours than they have in their whole lives! Well I would say that wouldn’t I? But it is true! There are examples of 3 topics which I use for my art demonstrations listed below but I am happy to consider any topic of your choosing providing it’s not flowers!  I use an easel, projector and other practical educational tools . Any of these topics plus your own requests can be run as full day workshops too.

I also have a superb range of specialist products, all available at discount prices which I bring to the presentations, providing you will allow that of course!

I am able to travel anywhere from the South Midlands to the North of England, weekdays or weekends, mornings, afternoons and evenings. My normal fee for a two hour demonstration is £150 plus additional travel expenses. Workshops are quoted depending how long I am required. Further distances considered. I have been known to stay overnight on some occasions!

If you would like to consider inviting me to your group, please send an email to: mail@coatesart.plus.com

Alternately you could send a text or give me a call on: 07887 900918

Thank you,

Stephen Coates

This is what was said:

“Thank you for coming to demonstrate at Hallam Art Group. I hope your ears have been burning as so many people have commented on your very good teaching and how much they enjoyed it. We all got a lot out of it and it is very much appreciated”  – Sally Booker

Reflections in Watercolour

Engaging members of the group, we use practical teaching aids to examine reflections and how they behave. Demonstrating the use of the correct materials, techniques and tips to paint water and reflections effectively.
